Moody Iris 22 is one piece in my Floral Series. I completed this specific painting in June of 2022. She started earlier in the year, inspired by all the local irises blooming in and around Nashville. But, as events started to happen throughout the United States I noticed a pull from the darker paints. The darkness of the background represents the media and divided parties placing blame on each other. The contrasting playful strokes in the buds simplify the laughter and lightness in my personal life.
As an Artist Sarah Arace enjoys expressing herself through many different media, including; drawing, painting, photography, animation, and mixed-media. Born as, Sarah Ellen Langdon, and raised in Huntington West Virginia she currently lives in Nashville TN with her husband and 2 dogs.
